Just thought I would share a picture of Jakob. He was almost exactly the same age as Aiden here. It funny because I forget so much of Jakob being that small, but when I look at pictures all the memories flood me! Just thought I would post and let you see all the similarities and differences between my little fellas :)

Fatherly FUN!!

I wanted to start this by sharing the craft we did for Father's Day! Bobby will soon have his long awaited Chicago Bears gameroom, so we decided to make him a gift that would fit right it. I actually made one of these when I was litte for my mother on Mother's Day. We decided to do Blue and Orange GOOOO Bears colors and we used a empty beer bottle for even more "Gameroom" appeal :) !! Here are a few shots of the boys making it:

And here it is when it was finished:

Bobby loved his handmade Gameroom decoration!!

I also wanted to share some pictures from Jake and Daddy's father-son movie night. They do this every so often and this time they saw Iron Man! They both had a really good time, Jakob loves his special time with Daddy!! Here are some pictures:

Last friday we decided to taka trip up to South Mountain. It wasnt that hot outside and the boys really needed out so off we were. The view is AMAZING up there, we could even see the stadium. Bobby gets calls while on duty and has been there many times but for the boys and I it was a first. Once we get back to some nice weather ( in five months..hahaha :) we plan to take another trip up, maybe pack the picnic basket and take a hike. It was a really fun day, here are some pictures:

Great TV Find!!

So, my DVR has been pretty empty lately now that all my favorite shows are on hiatus! I was roaming the channels a few days ago a came across a show I loved. It was on the DIY Do It Yourself channel and it was called Scrap. Now I am not a scrapbooker, I have given it a couple shots but came up short! However this show isn't just scrapbooking, in fact the three episodes I have seen haven't had much scrapbooking at all, just AWESOME craft ideas. My favorite part of the show is the host. Okay so make a mental picture of what you think the host of a show called Scrap would be, probably a lady right, older, wearing a shirt with a cute animal on it... WRONG! The host is a GUY.. with sleeve tattoos and a slight Pompadour hairstyle. He refers to himself as a professional crafter and scrapbooker... how cool is that :) I love it and my DVR is set to record every episode! Just thought I would share!!

So Many Ideas....

So I have been having so many ideas for home decorating lately... and no energy to get started! I thought I would share my favorite idea that is sure to be the first on my to do list:

One of the main reasons I fell in love with my house was that it had alot of architectural detail. Pillars, arches, cutouts all over! I have not decided what to do with this space as of yet. It is supposed to be a formal dining area, but with two little men we hardly dine formally! However, I have decided to do something creative with the arch in the area:
I was roaming around the web and found this idea for an Initial wall art:

This is off Etsy.com under Fabricationsbylin. I thought it was so cute, and I decided to get crafty and make my own. Soon I will be painting the cutout and raises on the pillars a darker green. I plan to put one with our Initial K in the top center of the arch cutout and two more with hearts on the pillars surrounding the arch. Then I am going to fill the arch with my favorite photos of our family! I cannot wait to see how it turns out!!

Just thought I would share :) !!

Fun with Colors

So as the weather begins to heat up here in Arizona, I am trying to come up with indoor ideas to keep my little guys entertained. Jakob has been very interested in colors lately. He has known all the colors for some time now, however his new curiosity lies with mixing them. Everyday I hear "Mommy did you know blue and red make purple" or " Red and yellow make orange!" It all started with a red and blue magnifying glass set he got with a toy. He would put them over different colors and he would get so excited to see the new color made. Recently I bought him a DVD that teaches them about mixing primaries in order to get all the other colors... he is simply fascinated! So in my quest to keep us both in the cool indoors and entertained as the triple digit temperatures creep up, I came across a color mixing activity. Basically you use paint brushes and food coloring mixed with water to decorate a coffee filter. Once you are done with your masterpiece you turn it into a butterfly using a pipe cleaner! The boys had a blast mixing colors and painting the afternoon away! Here are a few photos of our fun:

Jakob's Findings

So normally my camera is completely off limits to the boys. I have experienced the sadness of loosing precious photos and since then am very protective over it. Well Jakob has been very interested in the whole "spy" idea, he has some spy toys he plays with constantly and even begged for the Spy Kids movies.
The other day I was cleaning the kitchen and he came in camera in hand and said " Mommy, can I use your camera to document my findings." Normally I would have freaked and took the camera back, but really what Mommy could say no after her four year old said something so cute. I told him he could take a few pictures and showed him how to use the camera. Well a few pictures turned into TWENTY!! He was great with my camera and watching him play spy is really cute. As of tonight he has a file in the computer with over ONE HUNDRED photos in it!!
Here are some of Jakob's "findings":
