My Father's Maze!!

My Dad LOVES Halloween. Christmas is my Mom's Holiday.. there are decorations everywhere, she must have thousands! However, when October 31st rolls around you can expect one thing in my childhood home.. The Haunted Maze! My Father works for hours upon hours every year, and with each Halloween it gets cooler and cooler. This year he even used his neighbors yard, and it was twice as big, and definitely the hit of the block! My boys LOVE Papa's house at Halloween, and I know that having them there is the reason my Dad keeps up this tradition! So here it is, a video of The Schwab's Haunted Maze 2009: (Disclaimer - I am no videographer :)

Aiden...Keepin Me Laughin

This is my little comedian:
Isn't he cute, yes yes he is. Sometimes though, what is funny a little later, is quite embarrassing in the moment. You want some examples, because I have plenty!

At Target last week we were waiting in line to check out. Aiden said " Mom, my butt is itchin".. I told him to quiet down, and that we would address it when we got to the car. A couple minutes later he is tearing through my purse. I say " Aiden, get out of my purse, what are you doing"... he followed up with " I'm lookin for a tissue, I didn't wipe to good, and now my butt is itchin".. Lovely that he shared that with the whole crowd in the check out lanes!

The other day we were at Frys. I was in the Beer isle and Aiden started up! " Mom, Daddy drinks lots and lots of Beer.. he loves beer so much... Beer is his best... You drink Beer too but you dump orange juice in it... see here is your beer in these big big bottles... You love beer too.. I hope I love beer when I grow up"... etc! I asked him say.. 1,000 times to quiet down, but he was on a roll! Bobby does not drink lots and lots of Beer... he has a few on the weekend... but I am sure each and every Frys customer that day thought I was married to an alcoholic! HA :)

Today we were waiting to pick Jake up from school. There was a high school aged kid waiting too, and he had a ROTC uniform on. Aiden LOUDLY says " Mommy look a trash man".. I told "No sweetie, he is practicing to be a soldier, so he wears that at school"... " Nope, he is a garbage man"... A few minutes later a man in a Airforce Uniform walks by and Aiden says..." See Mommy THAT is a soldier... and HE (pointing) is a garbage man"... luckily the kid was smiling... but REALLY! I have no idea where he got his idea of what a garbage man looks like... I have never been outside to see ours, so I know he has not either!

He is very silly... and he is definitely keepin me laughin through life :)!!

A Day At The Park

The one things Jake dislikes about school is that he misses playgroup. He is not seeing his friends as often these days, and that what makes afternoons like we had last Friday so fun! We met up with Jessica and the boys at the park near their house! Jakob was so excited and really enjoyed the time with his buds!

2 Months Old

Here she is, my two month old! She had here check up this morning and she is 10 lb 14 oz! She can hold her head up, and loves tummy time! She smiles a TON, and is starting to coo! She loves to be cuddled, and LOVES her swing! Her brothers usually put grins on her face, but sometimes scare her and make her cry like mad! She is wearing 0-3 months, and size one diapers. She is her Mama's sidekick, and is learning early that shopping is just plain F-U-N! She truly is the sweetie of the bunch!

** Isn't her outfit cute! It is a hand me down from her best friend Kassidy, and if you are having dejavue, that is because this is the same outfit you will find on Miss Kassidy when her Mama did her two month post! Aren't they adorable!

I cannot believe two months have come and passed.. Lucy you have made your Mama smile each and every day!!

Not Me Monday :)

I forgot to add this into my post this morning, but I had such an excellent "Not Me" moment this week I had to share!
So we were meeting friends at the park on Friday, and I was not rushing around like a mad women, because that is not at all normal for me! I also did not set my keys somewhere and have to go on a hunt for them. The kids were finally loaded in the car, and my six year old did not say "Mom are you going to call a babysitter".. I did not reply "Why would I do that".. and he most certainly did not come back with " Well, Lucy isn't in the car, so who is going to watch her!" I definitely did not forget my two month old daughter.. she was not sound asleep in the house in her car seat. For the record, had my son not spoke up, I certainly would not have gotten to the park before realizing I was short one child!
NO NO NOT ME.. I have it WAY more together then that :)!!

My Star Student

I just got home from Jakob's first Parent Teacher Conference! I also got his very first report card! He is doing amazing.. I could not be more proud of him! He is sounding words out, and writing them down. He can count to 50 and some days beyond, he can write every letter, he puts words together, and uses periods and question marks. Soon he will be reading.. it amazes me. His teacher told me that he had a perfect score in Math and Science.. not a big surprise since he is currently telling me he plans to be a Scientist when he grows up! He loves school, and that makes my heart so so happy! She also said he is very compassionate ( something his pre school teacher also told me), and a great team player. She said he always shares, raises his hand before speaking, and follows rules very well! Yep, I am one happy, very proud Mama today!

Look what else I got this morning.. his school pictures, isn't he a handsome little guyBecause he is doing so well in class, Jakob got to be Star Student of the Week this past week! He got to be the line leader, help with the morning calender, and be his teacher's special helper! In the classroom he got a special bulletin board, that had photos of his family, our dog, and lists of his favorite things. Here is a pic of him with the board:

What a nice way to start my day!

Her eyes were so big and bright just staring at the flames!

It was a nice way to spend the evening in this wonderful Arizona weather!

May The Force Be With You

Jakob LOVES Star Wars, so of course he chose that as the theme of his sixth birthday party! My Dad made up this neat story and wrote it up the walk way to our door. It was just like the opening of the Star Wars movies!Once all of our friends arrived, we enjoyed some pizza, then it was on to the games!
I told the kiddos that they were going to be training to be Jedi Knights! Their first mission was to blow up attacking space ships in a pin the tail on the donkey type game!Once they were finished destroying the ships, I told them it was time to hunt for asteroids. Inside each asteroid would be a bracelet and they needed the bracelets to earn their light sabers! The hunt was on!They all found their bracelets and off we went to the front yard. We had drawn a huge "DeathStar" on the drive way in chalk and the kids had to use water balloons to destroy it!
After much anticipation they were given their light sabers! The goal of the game was originally supposed to be to keep the balloons from hitting the ground using your light saber. However it ended up being pop the balloons with your light saber! The kids loved this! The last step in becoming a Jedi was to open the garage door using only the force ( I had the automatic opener :) )! It was quite amusing watching them try so hard to get it to open, and they were all very excited once it did!
As they walked into the door, they were all awarded medals, and now were official Jedi Knights!
Next up.. the new Jedi Knights had to beat Darth Vader.. pinata style :)!! The first picture is too funny.. We had about twenty kids and one pinata... so I was stopping Jake to enforce the "One Hit per Kid Rule" :)!!

Last but not least, we sang Happy Birthday, ate some cake, and opened gifts!

As each guest left, they got a Jedi favor!
It was such a fun party! Jakob had a wonderful time with all of his friends! He was one happy Birthday Jedi :) !!!!!

Birthday and Milestones

So I meant to do this post in three separate entries.. but time was not on my side :)! So here it goes!

I am going to start with this little man:
Today is his 6th Birthday! Happy Birthday Sweetie! Jakob has grown so much this past year! He is so much more mature and grown up then he was this day last year. He can ride a bike, is pretty close to being able to read, he is now a big brother of two.. and excellent big brother of two! He loves to color, draw, anything artsy really.. and he loves music. He is still obsessed with all things Star Wars, he could live on cereal and chocolate pudding ( if Mama let him :), and his imagination is HUGE! He is such a big help, and a wonderful example to his younger brother and sister! I am so proud of him.. my six year old kindergartner.. I cannot believe how fast time flies. He is truly an amazing kid, and I am lucky to be his Mommy!

On to this sweet girl:

She was one month old last Friday.. so that would make her 1 month and 1 week today! At her checkup she was close to 9 lbs!! She is still doing wonderful.. even sleeping well most nights! She loves to be cuddled, and is starting to look around at everything. I think she is getting very used to her brothers, and their voices are instantly soothing to her. She can be pitching a fit in the car, and the boys will talk or sing to her, and she immediately is quiet and content. I am taking every second in and enjoying this time, as I know it goes fast! She has made our family so much more full, and we could not love her more!

Now onto my little Monkey:

My silly, sweet, cuddly, Aiden! I cannot imagine my life without this kiddo! It is funny because Bobby always says Aiden and I remind him of my Mom and Brother. The bicker back and forth all the time, but have this really wonderful relationship. My brother will surly always be my Mama's baby boy. Bobby could not be more right, that is Aiden and I!! Aiden can ride my nerves like no other, but their is this sweetness to him that I LOVE! He is also really really silly, and can always make me laugh! It is amazing to me that in the same five minutes he can make me want to tear my hair out, and then make me burst out laughing. He is my little sunshine, and I know that twenty years from now we may still not see eye to eye, but that he will always always be my baby boy!!!!

Have a great weekend!!!!

I Feel Like I'm Falling For Fall!!

YAY YAY YAY! Fall in the Kimery house has begun.. and who cares if it is still triple digit temperatures outside! I love fall.... I always have. The colors, smells, holidays... it is definitely my favorite time of year! So here are a few things I am doing to welcome fall and help me ignore the fact that it is scorching hot outside!

I bought this a few days ago, and my house is smelling so so good!:
I have big plans to bake up some of this sometime this weekend

I ordered this cute fall themed apron of Etsy:

YUM.. Pumpkin Spice Latte!! I have been drinking these like MAD!

With Fall comes Football Season! In this house we are Chicago Bears Fans! My boys have a ton of Bears apparel to wear during games, but Lucy was lacking in that area! To solve that pressing dilemma I bought an orange and white stripe onsie in the boys section and she has some ADORABLE ruffle bum shorts.. add these cuties and she is in full GO BEARS mode!
So there you have it.. my plan to bring a little Autumn to our oh so sunny lives :)
