Well FOUR years have passed, and my toddlers are now school age, and my princess prefers to play in her room. So I was left with a cutely decorated room, thats only purpose was toy storage. Very rarely did the kids even enter the room, and the toys within sat untouched until we had friends over, This really annoyed me, and I decided it needed to change. After contemplating what we could do with it without having to buy furniture or paint the walls again, I decided it would become a room for the kids to do homework, sort school papers, and store backpacks and such. So I begged my sweet husband to build a desk, and I started the task of going through ALL THOSE TOYS! Well we pulled it off, and it is exactly what I hoped for! We still have plans to add a reading nook using a pallet, and hubs is building a dress up storage unit, which makes me as excited as I could be! So here it is, the Kiddy Office:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRykgh34rLqYkImD9biEwfLKbiGalll7ZQ_6jw_UWVgNoTOXkM9Kp_7I899ofmKSFttbJM0imFG2n4V3UVg4DrrtHWnabX-RBJBmWKMXaNY2PpVCkxzCRkTe05NHy0j7T17tNeTVP3gA/s1600/20120308_224533.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRykgh34rLqYkImD9biEwfLKbiGalll7ZQ_6jw_UWVgNoTOXkM9Kp_7I899ofmKSFttbJM0imFG2n4V3UVg4DrrtHWnabX-RBJBmWKMXaNY2PpVCkxzCRkTe05NHy0j7T17tNeTVP3gA/s1600/20120308_224533.jpg" /></a></div><br />
Sorry these pictures are so awful! My camera is having some lens issues and is not cooperating with me lately! Here is a close up of bulletin boards:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkD3QdcoooPxcLWWBmvhF3QGr8Ld33bQ-51Rvj-iru2e-HJyBeL4W0dQaJVr7K3wdBH4X-PiKVMdLUFxIydpdzAnDpZFPt1cL36iQj0jVXt7VOtZ3hp6zTalf7erqpfb7Dg_xxKnwqAA/s1600/20120308_224600.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkD3QdcoooPxcLWWBmvhF3QGr8Ld33bQ-51Rvj-iru2e-HJyBeL4W0dQaJVr7K3wdBH4X-PiKVMdLUFxIydpdzAnDpZFPt1cL36iQj0jVXt7VOtZ3hp6zTalf7erqpfb7Dg_xxKnwqAA/s320/20120308_224600.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
We also decided to add a magnet board to the room. We have stainless appliances, so my kids have never had magnets before. Lucy LOVES this thing, she has been playing with it non stop! I am contemplating painting it with chalkboard paint, but the mess factor worries me a little.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUXepmX7OMNdInfnocZO92LSCxror0Uc1GaMFRHaQJD74JFMywUU7FcFU-3WP2QZNpxwz9N5uBPJC5uhGdioaxwmGV8TEdlc7aleA6voAvYudZo0N7C-gvZK3o0MtvbrsF-h_25tChxQ/s1600/20120308_224743.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUXepmX7OMNdInfnocZO92LSCxror0Uc1GaMFRHaQJD74JFMywUU7FcFU-3WP2QZNpxwz9N5uBPJC5uhGdioaxwmGV8TEdlc7aleA6voAvYudZo0N7C-gvZK3o0MtvbrsF-h_25tChxQ/s320/20120308_224743.jpg" width="201" /></a></div>So there is what we have for now. The kids were over the moon, and I love that my kitchen table is no longer covered in paper and folders!! <br />

Isn't she cute! I love my sister so much, and I LOVE her yellow cardigan. I decided I needed one, but I know she has had it for a while, and I am sure it is no longer availalbe. So I searched and searched online, but the only ones I could find were mustard yellow , I will tell you that mustard yellow must be VERY in right now, because it is everywhere. I was about to give up, but then I had a fabulous idea, buy a white one and dye it yellow! With key in hand, I was about to head to the thrift store, when something told me to check my upcycle bin. I am so glad I did because low and behold I already owned a dingy, stained white cardigan..SCORE! I also already had yellow dye.. DOUBLE SCORE!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>So here it was, my old cast of Cardi:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfyZBz93zjAUInnyKblPNadLBOFk0lWTHV0rF3OJh1dgKsuwuO7IVXg-49xm8O20W1_YOO7oj1_kv5eQWZ5HC0wnYBMEcWL_sRZ3wUsm5EaFYl6cgVVWbOokVt33FiEFk3F4Xm5TZ5MQ/s1600/IMG_2994.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfyZBz93zjAUInnyKblPNadLBOFk0lWTHV0rF3OJh1dgKsuwuO7IVXg-49xm8O20W1_YOO7oj1_kv5eQWZ5HC0wnYBMEcWL_sRZ3wUsm5EaFYl6cgVVWbOokVt33FiEFk3F4Xm5TZ5MQ/s320/IMG_2994.JPG" width="241" /></a></div>Now it is a (sorta) new sunny yellow Cardi, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE, for the cost of FREE!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTJ6FTd7JxYFulDOGiMnKdl0gin_FhcvBCtrtP2LyXduG1eNSiqfclFpkCfJ57wiNK2PEbNVSRJPEAK5QY594WW038YiGuk3G7ut6MlKfoqrfVBHHWGnZ-63yNtubkP6TZCjHpisn-sg/s1600/IMG_3061.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTJ6FTd7JxYFulDOGiMnKdl0gin_FhcvBCtrtP2LyXduG1eNSiqfclFpkCfJ57wiNK2PEbNVSRJPEAK5QY594WW038YiGuk3G7ut6MlKfoqrfVBHHWGnZ-63yNtubkP6TZCjHpisn-sg/s320/IMG_3061.JPG" width="245" /></a></div> If you have never tried dyeing, you should! It is SO easy, so so easy. <a href="http://www.dana-made-it.com/2008/07/tutorial-easy-fabric-dying.html">This</a> is a fantastic tutorial, in fact this is fantastic blog overall.<br />
I am beyond excited about it! In fact, I will be wearing it today, because we are having lovely weather here in AZ and I plan to be out in it! Thanks for stopping by, Happy Monday!!!!Lindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03589053395494523565noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6239410059487471174.post-91944437769137752612011-10-03T22:35:00.000-07:002011-10-03T22:37:48.707-07:00Frakenstein Costume TutorialHAPPY Monday! It was another normal day around the Kimery house. The boys headed to school, and Bobby had an errand to run. I did some laundry, watched Pan Am (is anyone else watching this show, I LOVE it), and put dinner in the crock pot. We had <a href="http://www.facebook.com/Crockpotgirls#!/topic.php?uid=149885375096697&topic=5368">Chicken Tortilla Soup</a>, and not only did I not burn it, it was sooooo good! <br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">I have almost completed my Christmas shopping for the boys, and have been thinking of what to get Lucy. Santa had planned on bringing her <a href="http://www.target.com/p/Our-Generation-Baby-Doll-Care-Center-with-Accessories/-/A-11269053">this</a>, but I after seeing her sit and play with a dollhouse at the party yesterday, I think Santa's plans have changed. I am looking for a wooden one, and on the shorter side. I have found some gorgeous taller ones, but I'm afraid they would tower over tiny Lucy! Hopefully we can find something perfect for her! Until then she will have to continue using her brothers Imaginext Firehouse instead... haha!</div></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Today I am going to share a tutorial as well! Aiden wanted to be Frankenstein for Halloween. I started to look for costumes that were more cute then creepy, as cute is a lot more Aiden's personality. I found this one: </div></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmNzf_A36SErmar_1uI_1SZz9FqrUSkdfiT_Ab4sMIAphyphenhyphenUIwECOod3266zjjwMvFuWjEPoMjdrJJbnkr_fOi6QWBfsSvecT6N2_WqH5W72zXOs4i2PTFtH_PlfmKfounVthhDNYf30A/s1600/11953-Little-Frankenstein-Costume-large.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmNzf_A36SErmar_1uI_1SZz9FqrUSkdfiT_Ab4sMIAphyphenhyphenUIwECOod3266zjjwMvFuWjEPoMjdrJJbnkr_fOi6QWBfsSvecT6N2_WqH5W72zXOs4i2PTFtH_PlfmKfounVthhDNYf30A/s320/11953-Little-Frankenstein-Costume-large.jpg" width="180" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">There were a few problems. A. It doesn't come big enough for him, and B. I was not about to pay $28.00, seeing as we had a suit and undershirt (that I scored from Goodwill for $3..whoot whoot) and all we needed to purchase was a headpiece. As I looked at this more, I thought "I can make this!" So that is what I did, and here is how it turned out:</div></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvdtPUPk5m43pXlq5WerVrm5Bqrt0p0cdiP5KCgPwKkxVvkC-PqOODXOjn1rUojR6jJqU_tPozT-inveiEUsxCrqRFYFrUzw3mSzWrC4CdfdNsu4XITmV4Q249Zdy2nA7UHw93lHuLKg/s1600/IMG_2926.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvdtPUPk5m43pXlq5WerVrm5Bqrt0p0cdiP5KCgPwKkxVvkC-PqOODXOjn1rUojR6jJqU_tPozT-inveiEUsxCrqRFYFrUzw3mSzWrC4CdfdNsu4XITmV4Q249Zdy2nA7UHw93lHuLKg/s400/IMG_2926.JPG" width="345" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Now I am going to give you the play by play so you can make one too!! <br />
<div style="text-align: left;"></div><br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;"><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">The first thing I did was draft a pattern. It may sound intimidating but it isn't, I promise. The pattern consists of four pieces: <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhifTag_vH_EwXL7uf3PagBqOfw8qne3zCI4qccZ0FBlgNjGwQ9ogro1mN6podC8vQUuJd2b4wM71IZYQudyEMHbjFl33E982Jhc3M2Oh-x2E0Pl_CUTqB4q0CkAH-xN9dyZ3b5MDBCAA/s1600/IMG_2905-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="544" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhifTag_vH_EwXL7uf3PagBqOfw8qne3zCI4qccZ0FBlgNjGwQ9ogro1mN6podC8vQUuJd2b4wM71IZYQudyEMHbjFl33E982Jhc3M2Oh-x2E0Pl_CUTqB4q0CkAH-xN9dyZ3b5MDBCAA/s640/IMG_2905-1.JPG" width="640" /></a></div></div></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpfrBvo9rt3gTKuvW6jTD7KuJWZbcTxmZ0my_ieMrFS_yJJgKdcibVglP5oD4gsVCYSYbeMcG9u7ZCa1gWmZpGvZcbYPVK9OYcolkmw67nxKIo7mGpuf0A3TtQCbmpT9ymeSm8WBgflQ/s1600/IMG_2906-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="height: 340px; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; width: 214px;"><img border="0" height="640" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpfrBvo9rt3gTKuvW6jTD7KuJWZbcTxmZ0my_ieMrFS_yJJgKdcibVglP5oD4gsVCYSYbeMcG9u7ZCa1gWmZpGvZcbYPVK9OYcolkmw67nxKIo7mGpuf0A3TtQCbmpT9ymeSm8WBgflQ/s640/IMG_2906-1.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">In addition to the pattern pieces, I also cut out some accent pieces. I cut 2 1 inch wide rectangles that were as long as the top of the main head piece out of black felt. Then cut it to look like Frank's hair. I made a lightning bolt shape out of red felt, a thin strip from black felt and there small grey rectangles to look like stitching. </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdlfUkd6Agf8EE5yER8NEvBpIGcqydBnisLV8ynn2t_T31MS50o93Yg2wR77-rtzn2EMQH4wvfChlqDe86I46ujQ5p7aXJMTEUnqaRiFIMqNP32dk4OQxJaZk7GmWARpcnux9u300W8A/s1600/IMG_2915.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="147" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdlfUkd6Agf8EE5yER8NEvBpIGcqydBnisLV8ynn2t_T31MS50o93Yg2wR77-rtzn2EMQH4wvfChlqDe86I46ujQ5p7aXJMTEUnqaRiFIMqNP32dk4OQxJaZk7GmWARpcnux9u300W8A/s400/IMG_2915.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">The last thing I cut was 4 T shapes out of grey felt for the knobs, sewed them together and stuffed them a little. </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1cdBK9jXKwLJvupRDH4-4Mm6mgwii3pNiJiwRM6qR0JuEwehv455NvBlWe4NJFFCfQa4sR3Jyu3_Vh9voejws2CinWLeoA1fdiny63S8l4GhSxsiyoa343s5Z0BXnM6n8XHdrHsgWeQ/s1600/IMG_2911.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1cdBK9jXKwLJvupRDH4-4Mm6mgwii3pNiJiwRM6qR0JuEwehv455NvBlWe4NJFFCfQa4sR3Jyu3_Vh9voejws2CinWLeoA1fdiny63S8l4GhSxsiyoa343s5Z0BXnM6n8XHdrHsgWeQ/s400/IMG_2911.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">Okay so once you have drawn the pattern and cut out your pieces, it's time to sew!</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">The first thing you want to do is sew the hair to the head piece. Then you can look at the two and decide which head piece you would like to use for the face side. I chose the one with neater looking hair v's :)! When you have chosen you will sew your accent pieces onto that piece (now it becomes the front head piece), and set the back head piece aside for later. </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">Next you will want to sew the lining piece to the wrong side of the front head piece It is sort of difficult to see in this picture, but just lay it on top of the wrong side, and sew up the two vertical sides.</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">Now take the back head piece you set aside and put it on top of the front head piece right sides together, adding the knobs we made earlier where the x's are in the photo. The knobs should be sandwiched between the two head pieces. (I forgot to add the knobs and had to go back and add them later, so some of the picture moving forward may not have them.) Now you can sew the two sides. </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjlxPYVSZHTaHRaBw5isTrRuNKGHNnOjX0nGAevzfcRJj4ty0Rk6f-t7dLLuY0KRdvmP5dDG-Tc9f3mBJwFpngcjPqtQXfP8w-lq7FWTWfnnMdMFgOO9VaS_PJa32LcTB_Cua8swRPuA/s1600/IMG_2917.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjlxPYVSZHTaHRaBw5isTrRuNKGHNnOjX0nGAevzfcRJj4ty0Rk6f-t7dLLuY0KRdvmP5dDG-Tc9f3mBJwFpngcjPqtQXfP8w-lq7FWTWfnnMdMFgOO9VaS_PJa32LcTB_Cua8swRPuA/s400/IMG_2917.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">The next step is to attach the crown to the top opening of the head piece. </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">Now you can flip the whole thing right side out and it should look like this (with the knobs being where the x's are): </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">I stuffed the crown a little for shape using polyfil, then pulled the lining pieces out and added a couple stitches in the center to hold the polyfil in. (This is where I ran into trouble. The lining piece made the whole thing to tight for my son, and I ended up having to go back and sew an extra piece of felt to the inside. I think adding some inches to the lining will help you avoid this.) </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZYEeQA-gDjmAATP_JviUmsAifoflDcOGNmMCXPXMC2lWMq34D5WyMRDbCh6UfFBCXMFkULwpSyESGn5BmNTg9CtGNhU7BcQY4hJikCtrpIOgHlFm1deRWPmKvqjlrCNqrh9qLmS_wtQ/s1600/IMG_2921.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZYEeQA-gDjmAATP_JviUmsAifoflDcOGNmMCXPXMC2lWMq34D5WyMRDbCh6UfFBCXMFkULwpSyESGn5BmNTg9CtGNhU7BcQY4hJikCtrpIOgHlFm1deRWPmKvqjlrCNqrh9qLmS_wtQ/s320/IMG_2921.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

We had a relaxing and fun weekend around here. We didn't do much, just decorated for Halloween and lazied around all day yesterday! Today we went to a first birthday party for a sweet little guy, which was a lot of fun, and the food was delicious!!!</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;">A few weeks ago we were at Target and Aiden saw this stuffed animal crab, and was so bummed when I refused to spend $6 on it! I told him we would make one together, and yesterday we did just that! We also made Jakey a little spider as well. The boys helped cut, were so excited when we finished their new little buddies!</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiQCi7ElYSr6l0HQfQWP3vojVm8e-1O70ICrvI4sVvXkE-7aZDLl-oMZ-zZGhtwUfaIyvWYY8oy0kw6dCYUySFLuKmw_xFQfCE-KaIBY2YzIHEN_wYd9U402UVWjnw44s2865zmExx9A/s1600/IMG_2934.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiQCi7ElYSr6l0HQfQWP3vojVm8e-1O70ICrvI4sVvXkE-7aZDLl-oMZ-zZGhtwUfaIyvWYY8oy0kw6dCYUySFLuKmw_xFQfCE-KaIBY2YzIHEN_wYd9U402UVWjnw44s2865zmExx9A/s400/IMG_2934.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">Yesterday I said I would show you how to make a floating ghost for Halloween decor, so here is a mini tutorial. </div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOAHZr2a1KuhY19ra09Fu4CwkWbO3HNqVCDarfCXEJ33QvZjtw_PkvYP0AIlhE6NRkzYTTmoRz3YYZI1BWqk4aAJqbEALd5Wv0xbadOVA76e8qddkLVQmHQezNkIHigNV9F6395e3xbg/s1600/IMG_9145.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOAHZr2a1KuhY19ra09Fu4CwkWbO3HNqVCDarfCXEJ33QvZjtw_PkvYP0AIlhE6NRkzYTTmoRz3YYZI1BWqk4aAJqbEALd5Wv0xbadOVA76e8qddkLVQmHQezNkIHigNV9F6395e3xbg/s400/IMG_9145.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">So for this you will need cheesecloth or another gauzy fabric, a 2 liter soda bottle, a foam ball (usually in the floral section at the craft store), 2 sticks, 3-4 other bottles ( we used beer bottles, mostly because involving beer makes my husband much more interested in helping me with crafts), and some spray starch. </div><br />
<br />
Step 1- Build your frame thingy (I don't know what else to call it) by pushing the foam ball into the two liter, and making small holes for the sticks.<br />
Step 2- Drape the cloth over the frame, and put the other bottles around the sides (see picture)<br />
Step 3- Spray the whole thing with starch. Be sure to press some to the floor and spray it well, as this is what will support him. Coat it all well, and let dry overnight.<br />
Step 4- In the morning gently pull it away from the frame, add some felt eyes and a mouth and place him on a shelf or any flat surface!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguYGMEY1TskIGv6Q_06f0g3Y6uvB98EqwKUiHMjvxzhUEKP_Cu7MYHqNpudRR32VGhzK1k3jeYWxuS33jCd9qYKwF-BXB4HIra4hzcJu0Vw8gpm1VOsUAziUPqJptd7cYjDH2v3i2xPA/s1600/IMG_9174.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguYGMEY1TskIGv6Q_06f0g3Y6uvB98EqwKUiHMjvxzhUEKP_Cu7MYHqNpudRR32VGhzK1k3jeYWxuS33jCd9qYKwF-BXB4HIra4hzcJu0Vw8gpm1VOsUAziUPqJptd7cYjDH2v3i2xPA/s400/IMG_9174.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Tips:</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">1. Make sure it is ventilated where you spray, you will be using quite a bit and it gets strong.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">2. The cloth should feel stiff in the morning, if it does not then so another coat of starch and let dry.</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">3. Do this on a floor that can handle being sprayed with starch, such as tile or concrete. We did it on our tile and it mopped up fine the next day.</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">4. When packing up the Halloween decor, fold the head of ghost inward, I did this and it was still pretty well shaped when I took it out this year. It made it simple to put over the frame and know where everything goes. Hope everyone had a nice weekend!!</div>Lindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03589053395494523565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6239410059487471174.post-11236045946659922252011-10-01T23:07:00.000-07:002011-10-01T23:10:22.217-07:00The Ever Changing Pumpkin<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">I have not blogged in a while, a long while. However I am blogging today! It is still warm here in Sunny Arizona, none the less, in this home fall has officially arrived! I have some fun tutorials coming up, but today I am going to share some ideas for pumpkins!</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Last year I really wanted to decorate for Halloween. I didn't want cheesy and I didn't want to spend $500 on all the stuff I was drooling over in the Potter Barn catalog. I was flipping through a Martha Stewart Living (LOVE her) at the dentist office, and I saw some pictures of pumpkins masquerading as other Halloween favorites! So I decided to try my hand and make a few of my own. Here is what I came up with</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNiX3aYK5R-XnSnKTdk16XqT7HSo9CNTylTqk8bjBGhmqFPMwWk9VtR4MtirSfAURrKWiJLzAyJ3WLbDRmBz8UBJUC5qjV48a0HWad7IqoGzBkvg47qz1p6ae4WYVaa9DSmatwP_lvcA/s1600/October+2010.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="135" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNiX3aYK5R-XnSnKTdk16XqT7HSo9CNTylTqk8bjBGhmqFPMwWk9VtR4MtirSfAURrKWiJLzAyJ3WLbDRmBz8UBJUC5qjV48a0HWad7IqoGzBkvg47qz1p6ae4WYVaa9DSmatwP_lvcA/s400/October+2010.jpg" width="400" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpHCMMAbuAm9YdT4XuEmEByKjJxxFliy0HRqjO63tyAjwxffAqdPwgMiKXoOKpSFd-KVcMl3ImY2qGeCRv6jICtB4jr8-3y2B9pBwGuJHEkiEyIpVkN996WdDWjNj5RRzXiRtBYe8pyA/s1600/IMG_9177.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="222" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpHCMMAbuAm9YdT4XuEmEByKjJxxFliy0HRqjO63tyAjwxffAqdPwgMiKXoOKpSFd-KVcMl3ImY2qGeCRv6jICtB4jr8-3y2B9pBwGuJHEkiEyIpVkN996WdDWjNj5RRzXiRtBYe8pyA/s400/IMG_9177.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Well, October 31st came and passed and my cute white pumpkins were still in great shape. I couldn't just throw them out (gasp!!), so instead they became a Pilgrim and an Indian for Thanksgiving. I seriously LOVE these two... they made me smile every time I saw them!</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIWDKf0tGaF7UV3yaEMH7x-NaD4zaXofikNRTC64YbqMFRBAsmhv8x56T2qHr8FaF6o9F9NQ6v-C9YocLfdFFaRvFqmpfdp4_PPAftV0lyCRcm-l3_41ymRbPqihkIryBNxRVMq7Py2g/s1600/November+20101.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="286" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIWDKf0tGaF7UV3yaEMH7x-NaD4zaXofikNRTC64YbqMFRBAsmhv8x56T2qHr8FaF6o9F9NQ6v-C9YocLfdFFaRvFqmpfdp4_PPAftV0lyCRcm-l3_41ymRbPqihkIryBNxRVMq7Py2g/s400/November+20101.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL7TiY1jNbHomUEj1PjU7of4Xver1sipBxWeeZkByETYkEADExoqFMyTPDbEdcxBpGp02v2SoQc1CFFejRIAl62aJTE0t2Pnq7jj80G0VbUXI5Gx3Z_yiOTt1TqsJF3jGf0GL4RwOlVg/s1600/IMG_9709.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="222" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL7TiY1jNbHomUEj1PjU7of4Xver1sipBxWeeZkByETYkEADExoqFMyTPDbEdcxBpGp02v2SoQc1CFFejRIAl62aJTE0t2Pnq7jj80G0VbUXI5Gx3Z_yiOTt1TqsJF3jGf0GL4RwOlVg/s400/IMG_9709.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The Turkey was carved, and all the scarecrows and leaves got packed away to make room for Santa and his crew of friends. My little pumpkins however, were in great shape. Still, fall was gone, and pumpkins were SO last season.. :) :)!! I was just about to throw them out, and my Mom had a brilliant idea. I had also bought a fairytale pumpkin around Halloween, so my Mom took it outside and spray painted it white, piled the other two on top, and with that pumpkin snowman was born! I knitted him a little scarf, and found a Magician top hat in the dress up bin, and he was good to go!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxshCxrcS44DdL34hP9aUjS82l6uXK3aTPuUZnkCw8qEIYdhR2a4XDTSuxg9O3-CScDGIKwMmPrY3G5hNSvJ4Tnp9LAiM6sRU3t_SwkrutUdE9LUtvs3b_EHWAAHZUBcI8xGRM_zxDRw/s1600/IMG_9905.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" kca="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxshCxrcS44DdL34hP9aUjS82l6uXK3aTPuUZnkCw8qEIYdhR2a4XDTSuxg9O3-CScDGIKwMmPrY3G5hNSvJ4Tnp9LAiM6sRU3t_SwkrutUdE9LUtvs3b_EHWAAHZUBcI8xGRM_zxDRw/s320/IMG_9905.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><br />
Believe it or not those pumpkins made it all the way to Christmas day! I just bought two white pumpkins today, and tomorrow they willl be rockin' the first of their costumes! To my delight I also saw that they now have white fairytale pumpkins at Trader Joe's, no need to spray paint! I hope my pumpkins hang in as long as last year's did! Happy Fall Crafting!!!!!<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">(P.S. Did you see that floating ghost in the Halloween pics, a tutorial for him is on the way tommorow!!)</span>Lindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03589053395494523565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6239410059487471174.post-17735687432406980462010-07-19T16:33:00.000-07:002010-07-19T17:32:17.112-07:00The Malibu Barbie Skirt TutorialWhen I emailed the photo of this skirt to my sister she said " I love it! It reminds me of the beach and Barbie clothes." So here it is "The Malibu Barbie Skirt" Tutorial!:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6-qZxx4wHL3TOJnokrxQp7qvWxICsyIquotSrlUHBQqICPkRYH3xgOHFHqBuSB2zeeA8heB_AMHu_UoL6qcbla1rj5ClNmKVTVgfStzI_Vuwaq4znKSS8rC3-CPRqAL_1P1yAjqQ2bA/s1600/skirt+shot.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6-qZxx4wHL3TOJnokrxQp7qvWxICsyIquotSrlUHBQqICPkRYH3xgOHFHqBuSB2zeeA8heB_AMHu_UoL6qcbla1rj5ClNmKVTVgfStzI_Vuwaq4znKSS8rC3-CPRqAL_1P1yAjqQ2bA/s320/skirt+shot.jpg" width="212" /></a></div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is a SUPER easy skirt and takes under an hour to make! </div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Supplies:</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMeGLh_7Yn_I3O2P9zjYS8Wrx5q6GPmFCVqfpuwYTxly2ArW2P7AgEXDmLI6w4kx2iy_gwgT70oAdIGTNXOAOwKWW2n0X9tCqhmpM3ZIpSppTEWBdqfDvLQVVUmPOJjhuh9aVVHcnmXQ/s1600/Malibu+Barbie+Supplies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMeGLh_7Yn_I3O2P9zjYS8Wrx5q6GPmFCVqfpuwYTxly2ArW2P7AgEXDmLI6w4kx2iy_gwgT70oAdIGTNXOAOwKWW2n0X9tCqhmpM3ZIpSppTEWBdqfDvLQVVUmPOJjhuh9aVVHcnmXQ/s320/Malibu+Barbie+Supplies.jpg" /></a></div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">All you need-Fabric, lining fabric, 2" elastic, scissors or a rotary cutter, measuring tape, a giant safety pin, and pins!</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">First thing you need to do is measure yourself ( or whomever you are sewing for :). I wanted the skirt to sit right above my hip bones, so I measured around my waist at that point. Write down this measurement. Now decide how long you want the skirt to be.. I wanted mine to be about 15 inches when worn. </div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Now it is time to cut! The width of your fabric will be 1.5 x your waist measurement. </div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">For the length you need to do a little more math- aren't you excited! We are using 2" elastic and making a bottom hem. So we will add those to the desired length. Here is my math</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">15" (desired length) + 2.5" (elastic casing) + 2" ( bottom hem) = 19.5".</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Cut out a rectangle in your fabric and lining per these measurements. Mine were 19.5" by 51".</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Next you will need to sew the short ends of each rectangle together. Fold the width in half (hamburger style for all you 80's ladies :) right sides together and sew. If you have been blessed by the Serger Fairy-- good for you! If not you will have to do what I did and use an overcasting or zigzag stitch! You should end up with 2 tubes.</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhegT6X4S7p8g6I2Mw-GblHyHaZCbvWGWBypNsvgWnoZBwq0zxJ-5sLvxkwtho4n-w7kg5obI27oWTpvD__zbUAwHtakKMcpj8Eu1RyzsZiwNPwBUR1h2aFnDPia6m5jwkx3qXVpU6qhA/s1600/Malibu+Barbie+%231.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhegT6X4S7p8g6I2Mw-GblHyHaZCbvWGWBypNsvgWnoZBwq0zxJ-5sLvxkwtho4n-w7kg5obI27oWTpvD__zbUAwHtakKMcpj8Eu1RyzsZiwNPwBUR1h2aFnDPia6m5jwkx3qXVpU6qhA/s320/Malibu+Barbie+%231.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Next you will add the lining to the fabric. You do this by putting the fabric tube inside the lining tube. Making one tube with the lining on the outside.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJeNuXdiDziWHfX8O2kMuNUXWAbMANboAI7i0EsmdUF-ywAIpjo4vgO9lKcCbX5DZwHJa-2yEwtg9xyCzqElrImU16uO1CfdhLfAUAQig3Fa8mTNwlqDN1RT31V4wR_ABRPeZ3-Nn4LA/s1600/Malibu+Barbie+%232.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJeNuXdiDziWHfX8O2kMuNUXWAbMANboAI7i0EsmdUF-ywAIpjo4vgO9lKcCbX5DZwHJa-2yEwtg9xyCzqElrImU16uO1CfdhLfAUAQig3Fa8mTNwlqDN1RT31V4wR_ABRPeZ3-Nn4LA/s320/Malibu+Barbie+%232.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">Now you will want to pin them together. Line them up by matching the seams and pinning. Be sure to put your pins in the middle, as we will leave them in while hemming and making the elastic casing. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3wehXWiH7Gb9XpECp_3T4MXlvQexU7IqzmpGlpAnCOPGQYbC5T8LfHeqnRVJwE7Qk3ikN7twZ4UyGOLBjDdUzS0DMeJJuHHrHJtbos-dXKRm24n7bODt9MjbFi8stNlAm0d36ML6owQ/s1600/Malibu+Barbie+%233.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3wehXWiH7Gb9XpECp_3T4MXlvQexU7IqzmpGlpAnCOPGQYbC5T8LfHeqnRVJwE7Qk3ikN7twZ4UyGOLBjDdUzS0DMeJJuHHrHJtbos-dXKRm24n7bODt9MjbFi8stNlAm0d36ML6owQ/s320/Malibu+Barbie+%233.jpg" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">If one of your tubes in bigger then the other (like mine were :) do not fear! Separate them, lay them on top of one another and cut the larger one even with the smaller tube. Be sure to leave a 1/4" for your seam. You will need to sew and finish a new seam' and Viola two equal tubes!!!</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">If your tubes were perfect from the get go, then you are a true superstar and you can disregard this info :)!!</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">Next we will be hemming the bottom of the skirt. To do so fold the bottom under 1", and then fold it under 1" again. This makes it so no unfinished edge is exposed! If you like to iron (which I do not!) you could iron this down. If your like me and spend far to much money on Downey Wrinkle Release.. then you can use pins :)!! Sew up your hem. I chose to sew two lines, one at 1/4" and one at 1/2"' just to make it more interesting. You could do one line, or even a blind hem, whatever you fancy!</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTsBngrgIUOxK8YaiwY2DKAvFnXG495TZTYt4asOs9_w41PL-2X9YVi5IispEZTgrb6vaPjj_H9zLIY0ixQRNe80wzWzBryvH6a_j9eRhnfVZDByIfqSjtqCIibqvvcCXsmYCVEWFt4g/s1600/Malibu+Barbie+%234.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTsBngrgIUOxK8YaiwY2DKAvFnXG495TZTYt4asOs9_w41PL-2X9YVi5IispEZTgrb6vaPjj_H9zLIY0ixQRNe80wzWzBryvH6a_j9eRhnfVZDByIfqSjtqCIibqvvcCXsmYCVEWFt4g/s320/Malibu+Barbie+%234.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The last step is to make the casing for our elastic. Fold the top of the skirt down 2.5 inches and pin. I measured at four spots and marked them and then folded while lining up the marks. Again.. iron or pins, your choice! You want to sew about 1/4' up from the bottom of the fold, and be sure to leave an opening for the elastic. Keep in mind it is BIG elastic so leave a good size opening. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU55DGfL7pGwYCmePCXAnTIsLuc3USq4bV8EA4BAkU3Q4wUDH5LVWtJycsS18IZi_Z6Njt3QM3k0gWdDSuPegkbbJeJx9APodrJ6xSbTQxZt_MGWnZVtK7XNs5YIU4yvZoshiiPWGhSA/s1600/Malibu+Barbie+%235.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU55DGfL7pGwYCmePCXAnTIsLuc3USq4bV8EA4BAkU3Q4wUDH5LVWtJycsS18IZi_Z6Njt3QM3k0gWdDSuPegkbbJeJx9APodrJ6xSbTQxZt_MGWnZVtK7XNs5YIU4yvZoshiiPWGhSA/s320/Malibu+Barbie+%235.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Now this was the toughest part for me. I wanted the elastic to fit snugly into the casing so it would not move around. This makes it a little difficult to get the elastic all the way through. I found that a giant safety pin and a lot of patience were the key! Once you have both ends of the elastic at an even length, you will want to sew them together. (Just a tip- if your elastic is twisted, you didn't sew the right sides of the elastic together and will need to take them apart and turn one side around!)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2vn7tVeWLb95YyPB7oE7SFDjS6WsWKsO54PWCxIKpUgdsXEMb4WZu9AzdrRQPyaOb2nQJ1mU9oJPziEMi4sFDb4Rs2dEzTm8OKJKwhGmK8Q9g2CGxL844z2L4CpT9xhKw-CkvdPLMUQ/s1600/Malibu+Barbie+%236.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2vn7tVeWLb95YyPB7oE7SFDjS6WsWKsO54PWCxIKpUgdsXEMb4WZu9AzdrRQPyaOb2nQJ1mU9oJPziEMi4sFDb4Rs2dEzTm8OKJKwhGmK8Q9g2CGxL844z2L4CpT9xhKw-CkvdPLMUQ/s320/Malibu+Barbie+%236.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Now even out the skirt and tuck the seam of the elastic into the waistband. Sew up the hole up and you are DONE! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-3tHVrVeJgRzfWaZI6VCeegPCskaHnbBmaSFGb6qDifHi_cr9b-wnnx503k2dodlGeYCRFmZvv-X-ydCim4RynOpPVDQuswyne5GN8QBy_bVdS4UoqM2CMw2CHCt40fWrtUNDdwnLFQ/s1600/Mailbu+skirt+%237.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" hw="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-3tHVrVeJgRzfWaZI6VCeegPCskaHnbBmaSFGb6qDifHi_cr9b-wnnx503k2dodlGeYCRFmZvv-X-ydCim4RynOpPVDQuswyne5GN8QBy_bVdS4UoqM2CMw2CHCt40fWrtUNDdwnLFQ/s320/Mailbu+skirt+%237.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Disclaimer- This skirt does not come with a corvette, mansion or muscular man named Ken! Well January Me didn't take into account that 2010 Me would have a busy little girl to run after and two boys to entertain all summer. Needless to say a handful of crafts are all that have been done. One of those crafts were <span class="goog-spellcheck-word" goog-spell-original="Handprint">Hand print</span> Pillows. I made one for each set of Grandparents. There is an awesome <a href="http://fromanigloo.blogspot.com/2010/04/keepsake-hug-pillow-tutorial.html">tutorial </a>that I used as a base and then added my own touches here and there.</div></div><div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">This first one was for my Mother-In-Law Hazel. I fell in love with these fabrics and knew they would look amazing in her house. I have to tell you that my MIL is a sewing genius! Sewing for her is the <span class="goog-spellcheck-word" goog-spell-original="equivelent">equivalent</span> of cooking for Emeril.. needless to say I was nervous. All in all I loved the way it turned out, and even if every <span class="goog-spellcheck-word" goog-spell-original="stich">stitch</span> <span class="goog-spellcheck-word" goog-spell-original="isnt">isn't</span> perfect I know she'll love it anyways!</div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL-EDabCa7bLbrYAv8tADy1yXYe2oMr05M02J_WBYR7MMEq6DsCQqmF2zbR5WLiv5gcjs70V-OhWSWpYJrv1kWqErvrXG71J3lWvyjzmtAyevbgLyE9_nMV-UaSngLITkr0OeS9yrXFA/s1600/IMG_7040.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="264" ru="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL-EDabCa7bLbrYAv8tADy1yXYe2oMr05M02J_WBYR7MMEq6DsCQqmF2zbR5WLiv5gcjs70V-OhWSWpYJrv1kWqErvrXG71J3lWvyjzmtAyevbgLyE9_nMV-UaSngLITkr0OeS9yrXFA/s400/IMG_7040.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

After grabbing donuts on the way, and some stubborn California traffic, we got to the Happiest Place on Earth around 9:45 am. We had only been able to see Disneyland the first day, so we started our morning in California Adventure! </div><div>Now, if you have traveled with my hubby, you know he likes a plan! While talking to Bobby on the ride over, I found out this was a learned trait from his Dad :). He quickly got a map and we decided on route. First stop was a Monsters Inc. ride, which the boys LOVED. I loved it to.. it even had the warehouse full of all the children's doors! Then it was off to A Bugs Land. This area is adorable. Everything is giant, so you feel like an ant! It has a few rides and some fun bumper cars. On the way out we did the 3D Its Tough to Be a Bug show.. the boys thought this was hilarious! Next, we walked the boardwalk and ate Pizza for lunch. While up there we rode the A Toy Story ride that Jakob had been stoked about for days! At this point we realized our phones were both dying, which was freaking me out because my sister had Lucy at home and I needed to know she could reach me if need be. So we used our fast passes on Soaring Over California (which is awesome and one of my favorite rides EVER) and said goodbye to California <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Adventure</span>. </div><div>Bobby and Jakob went on to Disneyland to ride Indiana Jones, while <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Aiden</span> and I went to the car to relax, have a snack and let the phones charge. We hoped on the tram, walked to the car... and then I realized Bobby had the key... OOPS! So a phone call, 2 tram rides and a mild case of frustration later and we were in the car :) </div><div>Once we met up again, we rode Pirates, had a blast in <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Toon</span> Town, and finally got on Its a Small World. We had dinner, and it was starting to get dark. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">Aiden</span> had been begging to do the Matterhorn again, so off we went. After the ride he said " I like the Mountain Horn (as he calls it) when the lights are on outside, not at sleep time!" Love him :)! The ride the boys were most excited to ride had to be Star Tours, so they were over the moon when we finally got in line to ride it. I wish I had a picture of their faces while riding.. they were SO happy! We have some serious Star Wars fans over here! Next up was Mr. Toads, then off Big Thunder <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Railroad</span>. It was neat because we were in line during the fireworks show and got to see the whole thing. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">Aiden</span> loved the coaster, Jakob had this to say " That freaked me out, I am <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">positive</span> that train is the fastest ride ever" :)! The boys were fading and we knew we only one ride left. We had decided to do Splash Mountain last in case they got wet because it was a little cold out for us desert folk ;)! Thankfully there was no line and it gave them no time to freak as they watched other people drop off the mountain! Overall they did really well, and besides the last drop, even enjoyed it. The picture of us dropping is hilarious.. they boys look terrified and we are cracking up, add in the silly random boys us front.. Love it!:<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 285px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485873680230178802" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIZtNbyKXhwk_D4rzysqSQ4lNKMwH0NxO98fwqXQWPi8O5ree6IbheFmOh5Sg6q1pN1aZFiHcMefH8ifcHW9GVG4EqEs7gE6uKA_ola7xPvk8BRLAy9h-Cx5KK99sFpRA-G5AAsYHjpg/s400/scan0003.jpg" />Here are a few more pictures from our day at Disney: <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485874916403284866" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOUZJorFfh64LqwSYoQnFn00pufSx9yhu2EanEaDUoEILdBP9pnnVXW8tJ9lRSdJhcXf6VHUDqQA86i9uq7WAh8Bsls-sANkOPkl6tZvTko6WR9DegEYmLEBjub-TFBWQ_YgD-rBucQw/s320/IMG_7138.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485874905762794210" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_iV2ZD9YA61yJxDr3NDOqHKcIoyXt_ytotVJa-cQg7HIUq4-RIfIhvbwUyMMyiyCzR4qsqxyal7ewqTmwJfvDuE5ZxaYS_S9revtgNNqESXIh_cBM7xLyjn1WSZFvvQhi_5-uNCvGpg/s320/_MG_7146.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485874924991122546" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUtRCi2bcEe0wBP113oyu_SNSRMs6UPEhCZxvgxoH-pLNA14HWfVmSsNgOID3sac7NGVPDJSaMijLtZSFvvRXnNOwOHu5ifplr4dtepNiiLytyerV7HldxEiUPDnnzDJOinQOPE-17DA/s320/IMG_7141.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485874940949792738" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRbYGciP2Kbn1_R0QeyCKgz-Qg7oQeGlq6KaEhqPYpWF3yBAXu3djObh7-05Kxs3rVDgRX9fgJrRFXkhHv4KXJcLqnM9VS37iuGjKKrSESlo7sSKvibgXm4q4t_4VWGdmAU4mdz2TrGQ/s320/IMG_7275.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485874932965665874" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVXvVPqlKrYyMm95Xq-DwCXjxpTacUHLxbanAUkRNEP3PInt9GmMSD-q3CE-DOVo8h_xbiUjMZb7IS4K1oIesIbem4WpBXfI98BwkePHxcMzRkegHH19WD0Khj_Mq0cxyv90NZkP8QIQ/s320/IMG_7253.JPG" /></div></div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><p>It was a really fun day!</p><p>Thursday was another lazy one. After dinner we went back to my parents and my Mom, Sister and I got to go grab coffee and spend some time together which is always fun. The rest of the night was spent packing. First thing Friday morning we were on our way back home to Arizona.</p><p>It was such a great trip. There were some really good times, and some tough times. We got to see so many friends and spent some great family time together! My Dad was and is always there for me. As a baby he sang to me, pulled me around for hours in a hamper/diaper box when I couldn't sleep, and took a million pictures! As a child he built me a <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">life size</span> playhouse in our backyard, told me the BEST stories, and taught me that my imagination is endless. As a teenager he let me make mistakes, drove me and my friends around like he was a taxi, and always gave me a big hug when I needed one. As an adult he walked me down the aisle and gave me away but he will always be the hero I call when my world goes crazy, he is the most amazing <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">grandfather</span> to my babies, he reminds me that money is just money, a bad day is just a bad day, and that there is always a reason to be happy and grateful. I love you Daddy, Thank you for EVERYTHING, I have been so blessed to have you as the guiding light in my life!<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 213px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485181294840521794" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijYNSXwHyD80wqUjlKtcituF4KWwizJT8u5h3FT9J_4WzV6Vx4h2t90vaH6JLnYQLUqCUMoEbYJWqIRoUBPgU5fFAjTqDCoDW9vn8Bkj084BdaHe4l_qLcXrhp-tje-Zdfwzci68YaoQ/s320/D+and+I.jpg" /> I also have an AWESOME Father- In- Law. Eric made me feel like family from the get go. He is always there for us, we would not be anywhere near where we are without him! My kids adore Papa Eric and beg to visit his "farm"! We are blessed to have his wisdom and love in our lives!<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 213px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5485181285075288562" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg56SiYWA-ySi4UR5Xp77KIiVd5DMKDD87IzbPX6iA-eMncZsYYT0bcrY1IDSNcYm3pNm6eZRIV-AdGUbnsvJsD8TSvEXNCOmTOOTLxUXtVwWIyjodpnjzjCAvib3EMrydTr32Ktmn_rA/s320/Papa+E+and+Jake.jpg" />Bobby, I love you. I loved you before we had our babies, but watching you as a father made me love you SO much more. You are those little boys' hero! You play with them, teach them, comfort and love them. They are two very lucky little guys, and it melts me to watch the 3 of you together! And then there is Lucy.. your little princess! She softened your heart, and she already has you in the palm of her tiny hand. You are so gentle and sweet with her, and that girl LOVES her Daddy! We are all so l<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">ucky</span> to have you! We go<img class="gl_photo" border="0" alt="Add Image" src="http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif" />t out there on Saturday and the first thing we did was visit my Sister in the home they recently bought. This is my Sister's first place and it was such a weird feeling walking up to Sarah's door. I had saw the house before they bought it, but it was much more "homey" and beautiful now! After a while of visiting we all packed up and went on to Mom and Dads. I was so stoked because my sister and Landon would be staying the whole week at Mom and Dad's too! Once we got there we relaxed, ate some yummy enchilada casserole my Mama made, and the kiddos swam.<br /></span><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><span style="font-family:georgia;"></span></div><div><span style="font-family:georgia;">Sunday was our first day at Disneyland. It was my little family, My Mama and Daddy, My Sister and her family, and my little Brother. We went to <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Fantasyland</span> first and I must say that Landon and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Aiden</span> were not fans of those rides, and also that Disney movies were much darker back in the day :). Jakob was tall enough to ride Indiana Jones so all the big guys and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jakey</span> headed over. I had been telling Jakob that Disney rides were safe and that millions of people ride them and come out smiling. This was to be his first big kid ride EVER. They waited in line, got on the ride, and wouldn't you know it.. it broke down! They had to be walked off.. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">haha</span>! He had a tough time trusting the rides after that. We rode Pirates of the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Caribbean</span>, The Haunted Mansion, <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">Nemo</span> and many others and the kiddos were soon having a blast. Jakob and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">Aiden</span> even rode the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Matterhorn</span>! Later in the day we even persuaded Jakob to ride Space Mountain.. he wasn't a fan, but he tried and we were proud! My Parents and Brother In Law had to work the next day and the kiddos were all exhausted, so the offered to take them home and let Bobby, my brother and I stay until closing. It was so fun! We rode all the fast rides and ate at <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8" class="blsp-spelling-error">IHOP</span> at midnight! All in all it was a pretty fun day</span>!<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482546456205904978" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgutg_2sTalsU2ATsPsLz2z0_9HJN8AiBKIcutZpW8ohNXYRki3l8zXTeiLolTtsLDcAvuleCbN5y4zMNtCSjzWaLKp874HFKV4wqZjZtIiu7XDmAvtlWhwZcZTk7QwtMIC3-Kk4SaZIw/s320/IMG_7118.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482546463982495362" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDNrheBbWjoqGw0AB9ibWFJxvtVrE9rOcDYTNTRI4rOBqqQ8AQtXRw5fi25q5EiS1Kd7TpsoDT9ujaQYTSc1ijnh3fA5UnmcCcrkGYCZPcDwwirbeM-m7F1g9rZ_53CXk7U_psqN_c5Q/s320/IMG_7101.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482546475692347458" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRopXFCYsr0BaUgT0bGTNmgRLkMI6pOEBnX27sPcajmf36Q0Nqf0iuR6uUY5g2RXTEm4B-O6C-LHm-ELx_NatVPD2JiixJIOWbg0GkENeaLAlYyCGINViTohJjuCBJxDmtazzwULKqAQ/s320/IMG_7106.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482546487752216962" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDVPSOBgSiMpjhZp8eNXwk0wGFjdKynVMIJE5qLPNCQhbUTuj1vg_4hN11VbY_kiPzYgcME1Nc-nXb8wiev6N1GvkL60h0atfGEIY_4jUgvmU4NRlAx142NPacwIWDTZj-Gg3Y7QxxPw/s320/IMG_7129.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482546501520705858" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1ZQFs2IbDsZsuhX8mvSk7kOb4wXk2tynv_RTdXuw169U-mvAdEKy1DJKxmD-B5ulI8wtlfy-dlCd3kpGLXdnP7yuU9wj6tGovFpYp3h7B_veVFWa5XaiuM9YcaLKPbtJkDV76tMh-Pw/s320/IMG_7135.JPG" /></div><div>Monday started out super lazy... like <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_9" class="blsp-spelling-error">jammies</span> into the afternoon lazy :)!! Around one or so we got up and ready and went to visit Bobby's Dad and his Wife. The boys LOVE their "farm" . The farm consists of a pot belly pig, a goat, a few cats, 3 horses and a couple dogs who are as big as horses. They even had a few puppies this time. It was a great visit and the boys got to pet and feed all the animals! Lucy was excited because she got plenty of snuggles from Papa! I forgot my camera, so this is the only picture I have and it is from my phone. It is of the boys playing with the pig :) </div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482549690263786178" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-r7v1E6a8uWYMtgYMD7DP37vch0SorGI9339J9N-baXagzxz4LARQk3hZS2b-3GjgvataGmw3DCKIqShd058_IQXYGxQGmRzQAR04caGgxLf4rWcSBqGGbUOuxBmc7327IBOgk1DxsA/s320/1_2010-06-07_19.28.20.jpg" />( Wish I had pictures of Lucy with her Papa.. it was so cute!)</div><br /><div>Tuesday was a very sad and difficult day. A week prior we had found out that a very close friend had passed away. Bobby and Justin had been friends for many years, and from the day I met him he treated me like I was a friend too. He was a son, a brother, a friend, a father, a soldier. If you knew him, you knew he loved to enjoy life and had a contagious smile. Tuesday was the day we had to say goodbye. The funeral was hard to say the least. As each person got up to speak one topic was brought up over and over.. Justin's huge heart and how much he cared about others. Bobby was heartbroken, and I cannot begin to imagine how difficult that day was for him. He gave a beautiful <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_10" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">speech</span>, I was very proud of him. He loved Justin. He misses him and I am sure he always will. Rest in Peace, we will see you when we get up there! <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 213px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482552678191758178" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJsotrLfeBJElcKk6nt6wCSzP7S1WG5fqHG5Kq1jkhKPlJxXIFJ0gdRN6bRoeMuzQboPNYaDbFaJ8I0J7aw-UP9Gytoh6jVXd9OxOe7Y1cfjxSbpuiYraEXPQ5UkBUsszvW4phtQswKA/s320/scan0002.jpg" /></div><br />Part two of the Vacation coming soon :)!!!<br /><div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Lindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03589053395494523565noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6239410059487471174.post-76188031701207742012010-03-06T08:32:00.000-08:002010-03-06T08:32:00.100-08:00Kimery Kiddo Update<div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHg8W1tWKhtcJvBsMXZcGtkISJXpV3KHAoYc7HqFU18IreYHgU_a6qUca1zOUVLgkKIOqi7n0AwALLGaxnHtaqYXbaWMxlmwMWq5WUw-YxOsgWW6pltc70g4W-TwJvMfZ4BWg-OeUXmQ/s1600-h/100_7710.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5445481405167008546" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHg8W1tWKhtcJvBsMXZcGtkISJXpV3KHAoYc7HqFU18IreYHgU_a6qUca1zOUVLgkKIOqi7n0AwALLGaxnHtaqYXbaWMxlmwMWq5WUw-YxOsgWW6pltc70g4W-TwJvMfZ4BWg-OeUXmQ/s400/100_7710.JPG" /></a>Doesn't that picture just make you want to squeeze all three of them- that is certainly my reaction when I see it!<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 266px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5445475131286960178" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT4FDebcIRn5CQ3ceBphO9RxNOAmgUDKA8X0f_isDo0TErPvtL5rP_afSb8qSEB4_G9vAcFJV4CSpr-UBUByF0omL_fRYreHLI13Gv49U9Bjx0p68jR-kfEEVSTHKSDUxfTny4CB4hrg/s400/Sweet+Jakey.jpg" /> Jakob got a Person of Character award at school last month! Dada when she is blabbering happily and Mama when she needs something or is crying ( isn't that typical :)! ) She is a really good baby, and her smile can make even my hardest days a little brighter! </div></div>Lindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03589053395494523565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6239410059487471174.post-59368058391668325522010-02-11T06:09:00.000-08:002010-02-16T15:20:27.559-08:00A New Direction in all Directions!<div align="left">So, where do I start! My kiddos, husband and home are my world these days... I am lucky, and blessed, and love my role in this world, but somewhere I have lost a little bit of me! I have been trying to spruce up all aspects of my life lately.. my home, what we eat, falling back in love with sewing and all things crafty, while promising to be thrifty along the way! I will continue to write about my babies and my hubby... because they are the center of my universe and all ( wine is the secret.. a glass a day keeps the crazy irritated Mommy away :), but I am going to let this be a place to log all the crafty things I have promised myself I will do going forward! I love to take a bunch of nothing and turn into something beautiful, and I am going to start doing that again! I want to remember all the things I have created, so I will blog them! So to set things off, here is the thing that brought me and my sewing machine back together- Hooded Towels :) They were Christmas presents and they turned out really cute! </div><div align="left"> </div><div align="left">This first set was for three little boys I love a ton who are brothers. I an going to have to make their sister one soon!<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438982235133104130" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyY-DRw68JC3NNAjQbhge0tJdlGxh0D7rsCW1dmWOGFMbWoJ_z4Zsdc9Eh1sSyC953xfDNWdU354SBEwHCXtmc4V8hpUwLu7oF_-2KwUDkJkKau0vzTEXy68W8hIkD2eHYLii_OiXFXQ/s400/100_7327.JPG" /></div><div align="left">This one was for my niece and was SO much fun to make that I recently made another just like it for an upcoming Bday gift!</div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438982245912978866" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3R2K5DRzFkawNXbmCGFcCAiL55dS-ipE-s3qZx1N8kD5OIrpZ0BwW4IUNS_PcWmU2zVTdOfK2yVQ8VNo3VPgRPhIenfm907ubCn6fp-LICSA5zc0uWGFySVtj-efs1kV56euvfddlfA/s400/100_7336.JPG" /> <p align="center"><br />This brother-sister set was for my niece and nephew:</p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438982223953826034" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9qKs8XJ_gPURFoVpgt96rec2Nlno_U55kTF-8SSmE7ljYHeXIUqdOJAGrpIMa2LEbCpjp8OlgGRG3ubZ3qwWNRcICSobMq9HP52MhFrI5ml-4qzwrc4mfXvJ3QtLEjUZoxYHmw6J2Wg/s400/100_7330.JPG" />I am SO bummed because I made another set of three for my older brother kiddos, and a Batman one for my nephew Landon, complete with a mask and ears... but took no photos of them! I just bought some adorable heart towels on Valentines clearance at Target for Lucy, and I have plans for Marvel Superhero towels to match the boys room! This was a fun project and all the kiddos loved their towels! Happy Crafting!Lindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03589053395494523565noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6239410059487471174.post-85312664020344901112010-01-29T18:17:00.001-08:002010-01-29T18:42:46.071-08:00New Years Resolution- Rethink!I have been a busy girl lately. Organizing, Painting Decorating, Sewing, add three kiddos in the mix and you have <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">CHAOS</span>! <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Fortunately</span> it is the fun kind of chaos! This year instead of my normal resolution to shed some pounds ( which I could totally stand to do), I decided to rethink how we live over here at <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Casa</span> De <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Kimery</span> :) I have vowed to get organized, which has been a daunting task- we had WAY to much junk laying around. I have also vowed to save more, and spend less! When we do spend we want to focus on things that last or matter. Things like sprucing up the house, or saving for a trip to Idaho. We are on a one month no eating out strike, and we have done very well so far! So put simply my New Years Resolution is Life Simplified.. you know like the Target commercials ;) <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">haha</span>! <div><br /><div> One place I tend to spend WAY to much money is clothing! I buy for the boys, Bobby, myself, and of course Lucy! So in order to cut back in that area I have decided to be a <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">REfashionista</span>! As in, go through my closet and use things I no longer wear to make new fun pieces! I LOVE to sew, and fabric can be so expensive, so it is a win win! </div><div> </div><div>Here is my first go:</div><div> </div><div>I had this black and white print dress that I bought and never wore, and a cute yellow top that I love, but is way to tight these days:</div><div> </div><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5432356426535852194" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgieZDlWw11lRI7h3SsbS7ytK9qfE2EwImQ9ZruCw9BaoZNm4AYg5sLTbahYWIBIKsB9su96Qu36I7bvwDEN1wa_Q_3NHtQHkAQ0wqLef41kBUc1V_i6hyidvBihj1t7FGsIYP-6arWLQ/s400/100_7632.JPG" /></div><div>So I turned them into a belted dress instead. It may not be for everyone but I love yellow, black and white together! The only thing I plan to do is make a cuter belt.. I am thinking wider with some random yellow <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">stitching</span>!</div><div> </div><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 266px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5432355940367895746" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnZ-Am-QrXDUGgbPqQcqgoAVQt2RiAzCRD7pv-Fv9EyEc8Jfrz1fFdwPLyx1Spl8B1fzinK2mLydnz6cZ-18pG9Zh80I4UOh_FzocC7fMy4n7sU-nG6qr4J9CnOxfxF81US-OVmx2CpQ/s400/dress+redo.jpg" /></div><div>It turned out better then I expected, so I am quite happy. I have plans for many more, as well as some cute things for my Lucy! In no way do I plan to stop shopping all together, lets face it, I am a girl! However I can cut back, and with the pile of clothes I pulled from my closet to redo, I may be able to cut back in style ;)!</div></div>Lindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03589053395494523565noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6239410059487471174.post-5539440666595642092009-12-23T14:12:00.001-08:002009-12-23T14:25:45.952-08:00Mama, Look What I Can Do!(Please pardon my extreme excitement and high pitched squels :)<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dw4XHV0kymEsXrP5dhVX6OgoBtmbdx5rU18wsRu8WaBxZ1GA-UaBR3eK6ZbLGFOqnc9qlZDz1-_ozSsdR9TeA' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /><br />Whew am I ready for another kiddo on the go? Christmas is my Mom's Holiday.. there are decorations everywhere, she must have thousands! However, when October 31st rolls around you can expect one thing in my childhood home.. The Haunted Maze! My Father works for hours upon hours every year, and with each Halloween it gets cooler and cooler. This year he even used his <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">neighbors</span> yard, and it was twice as big, and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">definitely</span> the hit of the block! My boys LOVE Papa's house at Halloween, and I know that having them there is the reason my Dad keeps up this tradition! So here it is, a video of The <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Schwab's</span> Haunted Maze 2009: (<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Disclaimer</span> - I am no <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">videographer</span> :)<br /><br /><br /><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dx9wbqy_lWFzW9Yu9cVDFDz5gxA0jJuglNORo8nWEtPnB3BTuuReOhZWdLu7QzPGecp6x9w4a4wUs-2OdG3bg' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe>Lindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03589053395494523565noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6239410059487471174.post-3443203521905252942009-10-24T09:31:00.000-07:002009-10-24T09:31:00.207-07:00Three Reason I Smiled Today<div style="BORDER-BOTTOM: medium none; TEXT-ALIGN: center; BORDER-LEFT: medium none; CLEAR: both; BORDER-TOP: medium none; BORDER-RIGHT: medium none"><span style="font-size:large;">Reason # 1</span><br /></div><div style="BORDER-BOTTOM: medium none; TEXT-ALIGN: center; BORDER-LEFT: medium none; CLEAR: both; BORDER-TOP: medium none; BORDER-RIGHT: medium none" class="separator"><span style="font-family:Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"></span><a style="MARGIN-LEFT: 1em; MARGIN-RIGHT: 1em" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNkIaUlTZzVgl3rCrenABiAD43sBua5cp_QgSQmLdjDmnpUxALAc1ZSrhiup5HbaT6JgDuTRM0pwx0ZM6fpWI3K2izs6U1hNU0WARTw__ILoGAvVpntP3AeR_UCQS9xXO_SGga8hLJhg/s1600-h/Jake+the+Snake.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNkIaUlTZzVgl3rCrenABiAD43sBua5cp_QgSQmLdjDmnpUxALAc1ZSrhiup5HbaT6JgDuTRM0pwx0ZM6fpWI3K2izs6U1hNU0WARTw__ILoGAvVpntP3AeR_UCQS9xXO_SGga8hLJhg/s640/Jake+the+Snake.jpg" vr="true" /></a><br /></div><div style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; CLEAR: both" class="separator"><span style="font-size:large;">Reason # 2</span><br /></div><div style="BORDER-BOTTOM: medium none; TEXT-ALIGN: center; BORDER-LEFT: medium none; CLEAR: both; BORDER-TOP: medium none; BORDER-RIGHT: medium none" class="separator"><a style="MARGIN-LEFT: 1em; MARGIN-RIGHT: 1em" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtqf2iiJUIBIuh_54C7uw6y_kCvcvUfjEnBCCk3NSCKT4PIcQMIbnKi1-BS9AX0nXndNaLwcC7MUqw5Wufw-_9W3w-ZpEgGlyXVD7F9OendJE0M4f-dEwsZZ1Qoqcm9JUBr-wu3k0C6Q/s1600-h/100_6987.JPG" imageanchor="1"><span style="font-size:large;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtqf2iiJUIBIuh_54C7uw6y_kCvcvUfjEnBCCk3NSCKT4PIcQMIbnKi1-BS9AX0nXndNaLwcC7MUqw5Wufw-_9W3w-ZpEgGlyXVD7F9OendJE0M4f-dEwsZZ1Qoqcm9JUBr-wu3k0C6Q/s400/100_6987.JPG" vr="true" /></span></a><br /></div><div style="BORDER-BOTTOM: medium none; TEXT-ALIGN: center; BORDER-LEFT: medium none; BORDER-TOP: medium none; BORDER-RIGHT: medium none"><span style="font-size:large;">Reason # 3<br /></span><br /></div><div style="BORDER-BOTTOM: medium none; TEXT-ALIGN: center; BORDER-LEFT: medium none; CLEAR: both; BORDER-TOP: medium none; BORDER-RIGHT: medium none" class="separator"><a style="MARGIN-LEFT: 1em; MARGIN-RIGHT: 1em" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9DDH4a_ZQGSerd7p_ZonuFIYCHRiRFhRUDvuZCC1D0YDM0QaQ3AZQEZSvc2q_JjZdZQ4dDb3bkJMZKVjts4V8aI4MfechsmvFhrZgk2yKS1D7B-CxnRWS01xpJtp8-NwqbIzGY5f1yg/s1600-h/Fishy+Lucy.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9DDH4a_ZQGSerd7p_ZonuFIYCHRiRFhRUDvuZCC1D0YDM0QaQ3AZQEZSvc2q_JjZdZQ4dDb3bkJMZKVjts4V8aI4MfechsmvFhrZgk2yKS1D7B-CxnRWS01xpJtp8-NwqbIzGY5f1yg/s640/Fishy+Lucy.jpg" vr="true" /></a><br /></div><div style="BORDER-BOTTOM: medium none; TEXT-ALIGN: center; BORDER-LEFT: medium none; CLEAR: both; BORDER-TOP: medium none; BORDER-RIGHT: medium none" class="separator"><span style="font-size:large;">See <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Aren't</span> you Smiling!!!!</span> </div>Lindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03589053395494523565noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6239410059487471174.post-59029545562264297702009-10-22T07:16:00.000-07:002009-10-22T07:16:00.202-07:00Aiden...Keepin Me LaughinThis is my little comedian:<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5395210263324482466" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj45pBeoK_tyHCYiUwxD8fnzSJLUD9yAA03a5vgbVvECfeP2IF7YSlX3sN36n9fTbcJmiA4EtpZoaNZSwyhIXWl5bIhMYz0NRNPTnPOZdYMPCLqsWz_FAv2iu411PbNFFImjFMGXe6CEw/s400/silly+monkey.jpg" style="cursor: hand; display: block; height: 400px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 267px;" />Isn't he cute, yes yes he is. Sometimes though, what is funny a little later, is quite embarrassing in the moment. You want some examples, because I have plenty!<br />
<br />
<br />
At Target last week we were waiting in line to check out. Aiden said " Mom, my butt is itchin".. I told him to quiet down, and that we would address it when we got to the car. A couple minutes later he is tearing through my purse. I say " Aiden, get out of my purse, what are you doing"... he followed up with " I'm lookin for a tissue, I didn't wipe to good, and now my butt is itchin".. Lovely that he shared that with the whole crowd in the check out lanes!<br />
<br />
<br />
The other day we were at Frys. I was in the Beer isle and Aiden started up! " Mom, Daddy drinks lots and lots of Beer.. he loves beer so much... Beer is his best... You drink Beer too but you dump orange juice in it... see here is your beer in these big big bottles... You love beer too.. I hope I love beer when I grow up"... etc! I asked him say.. 1,000 times to quiet down, but he was on a roll! Bobby does not drink lots and lots of Beer... he has a few on the weekend... but I am sure each and every Frys customer that day thought I was married to an alcoholic! HA :)<br />
<br />
Today we were waiting to pick Jake up from school. There was a high school aged kid waiting too, and he had a ROTC uniform on. Aiden LOUDLY says " Mommy look a trash man".. I told "No sweetie, he is practicing to be a soldier, so he wears that at school"... " Nope, he is a garbage man"... A few minutes later a man in a Airforce Uniform walks by and Aiden says..." See Mommy THAT is a soldier... and HE (pointing) is a garbage man"... luckily the kid was smiling... but REALLY! I have no idea where he got his idea of what a garbage man looks like... I have never been outside to see ours, so I know he has not either!<br />
<br />
He is very silly... and he is definitely keepin me laughin through life :)!!Lindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03589053395494523565noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6239410059487471174.post-2776353527016254602009-10-21T07:00:00.000-07:002009-10-21T07:00:04.120-07:00A Day At The ParkThe one things Jake dislikes about school is that he misses playgroup. He is not seeing his friends as often these days, and that what makes afternoons like we had last Friday so fun! We met up with Jessica and the boys at the park near their house! Jakob was so excited and really enjoyed the time with his buds! <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394946005530242034" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXYHU40p5qOn_TLW-p6pXA_iKZggBq8X1TkDlIlZ8n7F1MA8kG8KCTy9s1sJy8TFQHgOQA7bEfRq5tRhamdbx5PJh5zMhOKuEG1DSCQEKmJpqTh5VZgEbfrziJ4tquo8SZSyM6gXMS0Q/s400/100_6916.JPG" /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjti-GlJTrAtM4bymP5jJOq7uyXJEfM0ADv4I03LvSstJ9nT4EuzlXVMezpCqd9M7oyXAGzmtDMXAwN9w4PA2WCfmPaxMi3JwaoHmHz52vc5v-ogxV7EeV-f7bA6paK6FzNGjBBhywSQw/s1600-h/100_6921.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 240px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394944914083357330" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjti-GlJTrAtM4bymP5jJOq7uyXJEfM0ADv4I03LvSstJ9nT4EuzlXVMezpCqd9M7oyXAGzmtDMXAwN9w4PA2WCfmPaxMi3JwaoHmHz52vc5v-ogxV7EeV-f7bA6paK6FzNGjBBhywSQw/s320/100_6921.JPG" /></a></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho6ua8DA6T7AO58Bw9_aFhP0X4qHqrdWjCOHCaFh9ofNzpgfc98hu6KFP8L76BiP-4zx9hFKf6TwGPI6-kxr8pk4GRdygBy9TkRHVhnrtCs8VmRyOTWuJLtLtzj2_wpebUlmYEkml-iw/s1600-h/100_6922.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 240px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394946762851796050" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho6ua8DA6T7AO58Bw9_aFhP0X4qHqrdWjCOHCaFh9ofNzpgfc98hu6KFP8L76BiP-4zx9hFKf6TwGPI6-kxr8pk4GRdygBy9TkRHVhnrtCs8VmRyOTWuJLtLtzj2_wpebUlmYEkml-iw/s320/100_6922.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjti-GlJTrAtM4bymP5jJOq7uyXJEfM0ADv4I03LvSstJ9nT4EuzlXVMezpCqd9M7oyXAGzmtDMXAwN9w4PA2WCfmPaxMi3JwaoHmHz52vc5v-ogxV7EeV-f7bA6paK6FzNGjBBhywSQw/s1600-h/100_6921.JPG"></a></div><br /><br /><br /><div><br /></div><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><div><br /></div><br /><br /><div> </div>Lindseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03589053395494523565noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6239410059487471174.post-23995142608117703862009-10-20T08:30:00.000-07:002009-10-20T08:30:00.610-07:002 Months Old<div style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; CLEAR: both" class="separator"><a style="MARGIN-LEFT: 1em; MARGIN-RIGHT: 1em" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi2UMB2Vxm3kQzQm1yL6cr8OFO7D13KS4Vilc2A8QWyVO8yZ05-p0as-8s_S6b5qbp_qhk0Soq9mRfnSnURA_zohmhwfCkYAiGKA55Wvldb6ouAjmAUpxFbbaEPogfNM1kQ1lW7_HoXw/s1600-h/Lucy-+2+months+old.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi2UMB2Vxm3kQzQm1yL6cr8OFO7D13KS4Vilc2A8QWyVO8yZ05-p0as-8s_S6b5qbp_qhk0Soq9mRfnSnURA_zohmhwfCkYAiGKA55Wvldb6ouAjmAUpxFbbaEPogfNM1kQ1lW7_HoXw/s400/Lucy-+2+months+old.jpg" vr="true" /></a><br /></div><br />Here she is, my two month old! I also got his very first report card! He is doing amazing.. I could not be more proud of him! He is sounding words out, and writing them down. He can count to 50 and some days beyond, he can write every letter, he puts words together, and uses periods and question marks. Soon he will be reading.. it amazes me. His teacher told me that he had a perfect score in Math and Science.. not a big surprise since he is currently telling me he plans to be a Scientist when he grows up! He loves school, and that makes my heart so so happy! She also said he is very compassionate ( something his pre school teacher also told me), and a great team player. She said he always shares, raises his hand before speaking, and follows rules very well! Yep, I am one happy, very proud Mama today!</span> </span><div><div><br /><p><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-size:100%;">Look what else I got this morning.. his school pictures, isn't he a handsome little guy</span><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 321px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394337205570393250" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwIGfTHqRhSFlxoVry2CagQvXn0cZaN4y9KJW07cVWLjW-zCFfpaGr8iSM9TjX8vwI9nZhgUGc-oK4spf9ndgcRKPvR2DRf5nXwD_Wi8BT0r1a8Wiwl4jIOIk1l0veaC_1eYn0G1-goA/s400/scan0002.jpg" /><span style="font-size:100%;">Because he is doing so well in class, Jakob got to be Star Student of the Week this past week!
