My boys BOTH took a nap today...AT THE SAME TIME. I of course took the opportunity to relax a little. As I way lying there I started to think of all the years I have been a Mommy. It has been almost 6! The more I thought, the more my mind was flooded with so many memories, a lot of them of Bobby being an amazing Daddy! To be perfectly honest, when we found out we were going to be parents, we were scared, inexperienced, and about as unprepared as it gets. Although Bobby held, cuddled and tried and tried to get Jakob to smile as much as he possibly could (he loved that little smile!), I did the majority of the work those first 6 months. Then the time every parent know so well arrived. The moment they go from being tiny little infants who do little more then sleep and look adorable, to being chubby little babies, who laugh, play and crawl. Well that was when Bobby and Jakob became best buds! We had this circular gate, it was not at all big enough for Bobby, but he would squeeze in there and play with Jake for hours. One of my favorite memories was when Jake was about 15 months old. I came home form work and like so many other days there was a note saying that Bobby had taken Jake to the park up the street and I should join them. This day stood out because I could see Bobby beaming with pride from the parking lot. He had a HUGE smile, as we watched our little boy go up the stairs and down the slide over and over! From those days on, I watched him, like myself, go from scared out of his mind, to LOVE being a parent so much! When we had Aiden we both felt far more relaxed and he even helped a ton the first six months. Aiden and Bobby have a really great bond, and it was like watching him with Jakey all over again. I even have a similar playground memory of sweet little Aiden! Today, my boys are almost 3 and 5, and let me tell you nothing has changed. You will often find him playing Bakagun (probably spelled that wrong :) with them, building elaborate train tracks, or watching them romp in the green belt in their Jeep. He is an awesome Dad.
